Polk Audio MM651 UM
For 35 years Polk Audio has been committed to enhancing everyones entertainment in speaker sound, so when Polk Audio decided to build a marine certified speaker; they did it in a way that only Polk Audio knows how: BIG. Polk Audio introduced a very qood quality speaker called the MM651 which was already marine certified, and then they modified it more to build the MM651 UM. UM stands for Ultra Marine. The biggest changes to the MM651 to create the Ultra Marine version is that they used a dome mounted tweater instead of a tweater on tweater post, and they mounted the crossover directly to the back of the magnet. Dome mounted tweaters are more efficient in marine environments because there is no post behind the tweater that could allow water to penetrate the speaker, and the magnet mounted crossover makes the speaker one piece and super easy to install. Bonus is that when mounting these in wakeboard tower speaker cans or enclosures, there is no nead for a crossover shelf to mount the speakers to. Polk Audio MM651 UM are great quality wakeboard tower speakers, and a very attractive price point. Suggested retail is $218.99 per pair.
